Questions about the templates

Are these templates free to use?

Yes. Copy them, download the Word files and adapt them for your hospital or clinic. No sign-up is needed.

Are the templates compliant with the NMC guidelines of October 2026?

They are written to fit the NMC Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication of 6 October 2026: no testimonials or review requests, no before-and-after images, no superlatives or offers, factual doctor information and labelled AI content. They are a marketer's starting point, not legal advice, so have your legal and medical teams approve the final text.

Can a hospital still ask patients for Google reviews?

No, not for promotion. The NMC guidelines bar doctors and hospitals from requesting or sharing reviews for promotion. Use the private feedback message to hear from patients directly, and reply to every review that appears.

Do WhatsApp reminders need consent?

Yes. Utility messages need prior opt-in under WhatsApp policy and notice and consent under the DPDP Act, with an easy way to opt out. Keep reminders free of offers and review links.

How should a hospital reply to a negative review?

Acknowledge the concern, do not confirm the reviewer is a patient, never discuss diagnosis, treatment or bills in public, and give a direct contact to take it offline. The review reply templates cover six common situations.

Can I use these templates for a clinic or a single doctor?

Yes. Replace the hospital name and unit with the clinic or doctor details. The rules on testimonials, offers, superlatives and AI labelling apply to individual doctors too.

These templates are a marketer’s working drafts based on the NMC guidelines of 6 October 2026, the ASCI code, the Consumer Protection Act and the DPDP Act as reported at the time of writing. They are not legal advice. Check the current text of each rule and have your legal and medical reviewers approve anything you publish or sign.
