What is Doctor page?
A doctor page is the web page that describes one clinician: name, qualifications, specialties, languages, locations, OPD timings, procedures performed and how to book. It is often the most visited page type on a hospital site and a key source for search engines and AI assistants.
Why it matters for hospitals
Patients choose doctors as much as hospitals. Thin or outdated doctor pages lose bookings and lead AI systems to rely on aggregator profiles instead of the hospital’s own information.
How to put it into practice
- Use a consistent template with credentials, languages, timings and a booking action.
- Add Physician schema with sameAs links to verified profiles.
- Answer common questions in the doctor’s own words, reviewed for accuracy.
- Update within a week of any change in schedule, location or role.
The common mistake
Advertising-style claims such as ‘best surgeon’ or success-rate boasts. Indian medical ethics rules discourage self-promotion; stick to verifiable facts.
An illustrative example
A hospital rebuilds its 200 doctor pages with the same fields and markup. Organic bookings from doctor pages rise, and AI answers begin quoting the hospital’s own details. (Composite example, not a specific hospital.)
