What is Health check package?
A health check package is a bundled set of preventive tests and consultations sold at a fixed price, such as basic, executive, cardiac or women’s wellness checks. Indian hospitals sell them to individuals, families and corporates. Beyond direct revenue, they introduce new people to the hospital and can lead to specialist consultations when findings need follow-up.
Why it matters for hospitals
Health checks are one of the few hospital services people choose online and compare on price, so they suit digital marketing well. Their real value lies in a planned follow-up path for abnormal findings, handled with care.
How to put it into practice
- Keep a small, clear range of packages with tests listed in plain language.
- Build package landing pages with online booking, slot choice and preparation instructions.
- Set up a follow-up journey for reports that need a doctor review, led by clinicians.
- Offer family and corporate variants and track bookings by source.
- Avoid fear-based messaging and check advertising rules before price promotions.
The common mistake
Treating health checks as a discount product and stopping at the report, with no consult path for patients whose results need attention.
An illustrative example
A hospital simplified twelve packages to five and added a doctor review call for flagged reports. Bookings rose and more follow-up consultations were scheduled. (Composite example, not a specific hospital.)
