Compliance warning for doctors and hospitals. Since 6 October 2026, the NMC Guidelines on Ethical Advertising bar registered doctors and hospitals from requesting or sharing patient reviews for promotion, even with the patient’s consent. Do not use this tool’s link, QR code, counter card or message to ask patients for reviews: no QR codes at the counter, no post-visit review messages, no review targets. You may use the link to check your own profile, or share it with a patient who asks how to leave feedback. The tool remains suitable for businesses outside NMC rules, such as pharmacies and wellness businesses. Instead, reply to every review and use a private feedback message with no review link. See patient reviews after the NMC rules and the NMC 2026 compliance hub.

How to use it
From link to more reviews
- Find your Place ID. Search your clinic in Google’s Place ID Finder (on the Google Maps Platform documentation site) and copy the ID that starts with ChIJ. Or, in your Google Business Profile, choose “Ask for reviews” and copy the link it gives you.
- Paste it above. The tool builds the direct review link, a QR code and a printable card.
- Test the link on your own phone before printing. It should open the review box for the right location.
- Doctors and hospitals: do not display the card or send the message. NMC guidelines bar review requests for promotion. Businesses outside NMC rules can place the card where the visit ends, such as the billing or pharmacy counter, and send the message after the visit, not before.
For multi-unit hospitals, make one link and card per location, because each unit has its own profile. Read patient reviews strategy: volume, velocity and response and Google Business Profile for multi-unit hospitals, or run the Google Business Profile health check.
Stay within the rules
What not to do
- Ask everyone, not only happy patients. Filtering who gets the link (review gating) is against Google’s policy and can get reviews removed.
- No incentives. Discounts, gifts or free services in exchange for reviews break Google’s rules and, in India, the ASCI guidelines on online reviews.
- Never post reviews for patients or let staff write them from shared devices at the counter.
- Reply without health details. Confirming that someone was a patient or discussing their treatment in a public reply can breach confidentiality and data protection rules.

No, and for doctors and hospitals in India the question has changed: since 6 October 2026, NMC guidelines bar requesting reviews for promotion at all. Selectively asking only happy patients, known as review gating, is also against Google’s policy. Businesses outside NMC rules that do ask must ask every customer in the same way.
Nowhere, as a review request. Since 6 October 2026, NMC guidelines bar doctors and hospitals from requesting reviews for promotion, which includes QR codes at billing, pharmacy or discharge counters. Keep your Google profile accurate, reply to every review, and use a private feedback channel to hear from patients directly.
No. The link, QR code and card are made in your browser and nothing is saved.
