Patient reviews are often the first trust signal a patient sees.

Here is how to grow them steadily, reply safely, and stay inside Google's rules.

Track four numbers per location and, where it applies, per doctor.

Volume: the total number of reviews.

Velocity: how many arrive each month.

Rating: the average score.

And response: how many get a reply, and how fast.

Most review problems come from well-meaning shortcuts.

No payment, discounts or freebies for reviews.

No asking only happy patients, which is called gating.

And no reviews from staff or fake accounts.

Volume and velocity come from one thing: a consistent, automated request after the visit, through a channel the patient agreed to.

Every reply should be short, polite and free of any detail that confirms someone was a patient or describes their care.
