A hospital marketing strategy is not a list of channels.
It is a few hard choices: which demand, which specialties, which front door, and how enquiries convert.
A hospital does not run on one market.
Treating it as one audience is the most common strategic mistake.
Local catchment demand: walk-ins, emergencies and near me searches, won on the map listing and the phone.
Doctor-led and referral demand: patients who come because a physician sent them or a consultant's name travels.
And destination demand: patients travelling from other cities or countries for complex care.
Choice two is specialty, and it is constrained by something marketing does not own: slots.
A specialty with an eleven-day wait for a new patient is not a growth opportunity, whatever the search volume says.
Patients choose a doctor and a hospital at the same time, and each carries a different part of the decision.
The doctor carries clinical trust.
The brand carries everything around it: safety, honest billing, insurance and how the family is treated.
The strategy has to make the two reinforce each other, not compete.
A patient reaches a hospital through a dozen entrances.
To the patient it is one hospital.
Inside, it is a dozen systems.
Does every unit have one accurate listing?
Does every doctor page lead to a booking?
Are calls and WhatsApp messages answered, including after hours?
If one number runs the strategy, it is the enquiry-to-appointment rate.
Identified enquiries that become booked, and then honoured, appointments, reported by unit and specialty every week.
The strategy becomes a plan when it fits on one page per unit.
Objectives by specialty and unit, in appointments, not leads.
The demand pool each objective draws from, and who owns it.
The named front-door defects to fix.
And weekly conversion targets.
